SUMMARY:'Anything But A Box' Workshop & Talk on Design Intelligence
DESCRIPTION:11:00-13:00 | Anything but a Box Workshop\n11-11:30 – introduce form finding techniques and show examples on how to make them (tensile structures and geodesics)\n11:30-12 – students create their own physical prototype from a provided materials list.\n12-12:20 – critique the models created and select the best ones.\n12:20-13 – walkthrough on grasshopper on how to create tensile structures\, and geodesic structures. \nIn this workshop\, we look beyond traditional methods of design and construction\, instead\, introducing the language of parametric form-finding using physical modelling as our tool of exploration. \nWe will look at several different methods of form-finding including tensile structures\, geodesics and other geometries\, before letting you try your own form-finding at home(material list will be emailed to you). Join us to investigate new technology\, practice and materials to produce an original concept that’s ‘anything but a box’. \n13:30-14:30 | Theodoros Galanos on ‘Design Intelligence’\n” Theodore works at the intersection of Design and Intelligence\, specializing in the development of computational design technologies for the built environment that seek to generate\, extract\, collect\, and articulate Design Intelligence\, bring together disciplines\, and enable effective\, efficient\, and most of all\, creative design processes. He is a Senior Researcher in the City Intelligence Lab of the Austrian Institute of Technology where he leads the development of InFraRed\, the first AI-Driven\, performance-based urban design tool.”

SUMMARY:'Speak' - the power of Architectural students
DESCRIPTION:The voices of young activist has proven to be effective & using this as a platform to teach on their findings; joins us to hear from FAF & INVOLVED magazine. \nFAF – It took 2 students to assemble the voices of young struggling architectural professionals across the UK – which led to making an impactful change within the RIBA System. A grassroots organisation of architectural workers and students\, FAF campaigns to end the exploitative practices that have come to define the world of architecture. \nINVOVLED Magazine – The lack of diverse voices within the profession and the limited opportunities to get heard disappointed them during their studies\, A group who felt they were misused and weren’t listened to when entering the professional life. They formed INVOLVED Magazine to give an insight into the current profession and the ways regeneration allows to maximise the true potential of Architecture.
