Project Description
Embracing the changing nature of the High Street.
The building has studios too, they are to allow a more private environment where the artisans can work and teach. The building's top floor is reserved for a study space meant to be used by the community as a meeting place without the expectation of having to pay for sitting down like a café or having to be quiet like in a library.
This comes after the realization during the site visit that Chepstow has very little to provide to its youth in terms of amenities and a regeneration of an unused building seemed like an opportunity to propose such amenities.
Lastly, the tower itself is meant to be the heart of the building such that it is the central circulatory core around which people traverse and is also designed in mind to be a tourist attraction as it will allow views of the castle St. Mary's church and the Severn Bridge. The building is one big experiment in creating this playground for creativity.
