Productive Landscape Brewery

Abergavenny cider brewery proposed as a productive landscape. Located next to Laurie Jones community orchard benefiting from local harvest to produce craft ciders. With the community scale management principles practiced in the orchard replicated in the the brewery for continuity of community involvement.

Designed to be self-sufficient, on site bio digesters will recycle Apple pulp and water waste creating gas to power brewery machines and using leftover waste as fertiliser to replenish and tend the orchard. Scheme proposes to consolidate the identity of the town, the views and walking routes to the near Castle Museum remind visitors and locals of history and characteristics of Abergavenny. With the towns spirit intended to reach further extents by connecting the brewery to the local market and high street ; delivering the product to urban settings within the town for enjoyment and celebrations of locally sourced produce.
