PGR

Course Director

Dr Vicki Stevenson

This has been a great year for Post Graduate Researchers (PGRs) in the Welsh School of Architecture! We’ve welcomed this year’s new starters into our PGR community, which has been further developed by having some great events! These range from coffee mornings to technical discussions to cultural celebrations. All of which have been supported by our amazing PGR Reps and PGR support team!
The exhibition theme of “Adapt” is relevant to all of our PGR research! Many of our PGRs are motivated by seeing problematic situations or systems which they wish to adapt to enable a better outcome. While others are exploring ways of adapting methodologies to get clearer understanding.
All of this has led to our key achievements for 2023-24!
ARCHI PGRs were well represented in the Doctoral Academy’s “Images” event in December (including a prize winner!).
A great poster event illustrating the variety of PGR projects being undertaken at ARCHI!
Many PGRs sharing their research in conferences and publications.
ARCHI PGR hosting of the AHRA conference!
Finally, we’ve waved a cheerful “Bon Voyage” to several PGRs who have successfully completed their studies and are moving into the next stage of their careers! We wish them well and hope they’ll keep in touch and let us know how they’re progressing! Meanwhile we’re ready to welcome our next group of new starters!
