Project Description

Reviving Chepstow's High Street

The market offers great flexibility with its foldable stalls that can be easily stored during weekdays, allowing the square to serve multiple functions such as concerts and exhibitions when required. The simplicity of these stalls ensures that they have a low entry requirement, enabling as many locals as possible to participate. Additionally, since there are vacant stores on the high street already catering to financially stable sellers, the market provides opportunities for a wide range of individuals.

Moreover, the design of the square avoids encroaching upon existing public space, thanks to its sheltered open space on the first floor. By keeping the first floor open, the building maintains a light and unobtrusive presence, benefiting pedestrians and the shops across the street.
