The Ceramics Factory
View Depicting Public Entrance and Artists’ Studios from Brantwood and Tariff Road Junction
This project explored the reuse of leftover industrial structures in North East London and recasting them as significant and instrumental to revitalising the area of Brantwood Road. The leftover structures act as a tool to amplify existing yet currently undervalued relationships between manufacturers and small-scale makers within the ceramic industry. The scheme advocates reinforcing the acquisition of skill within the workforce and introducing a more collaborative relationship between the public, artists, and manufacturer.

Through the analysis of precedents, the project challenges how the 21st century workspace can be imaginatively sustained in the centre of the city, whilst building on existing industrial architecture of a 1970s factory-turned warehouse and the potential that this creates.
Scheme Axonometric
The transformation of the building within the industrial setting creates a new more social industry where the assumptions of productive and industrial areas are questioned, tested, and established, whilst also strengthening the relationship between industry and the public.
