Project Description

A study on rotoscoping and the emergent form out of patterns

This is a compilation of form-finding experiments done between October 29 and November 26, 2020. It started with a study of dance videos, continued with material and project investigation, digital exploration, and even though the project ends here, the experimentation will not. It is important to point out that using motion models and keyframes to explore new forms is not a new subject, but the use of new digital tools, including remote meetings and model making, was very new to the participants in the project. The process used to create what is shown in this document is the observe - measure - map method, a method that used little interpretation and focused on using the data available.
