Project Description

Using architecture to document the impact of users as time passes

In order to allow people living in Pontrhydyfen to repair the social damage of their forgotten village, my project aims to create a place to gather and embrace decay and change.

After observing a community whose interests are not represented in creating places to gather, I felt compelled to look closer at the reasons for the degradation of a village that had an otherwise immense sense of self and community.y

By proposing a new community centre and providing the infrastructure for a town market where residents are free to test ideas as well as find economic independence

Through this project, I became more aware of the impact architecture has on how we as a society process change, death, decay, wear and tear. These processes aid us in dealing with our own mortality through feeling that we contribute to a process greater than our individuality.
