Project Description
Colours and Forms at the River Taff
As this design project was an opportunity for all the students to be extremely creative in their own ways, I wanted to make this project personal to me. I was immediately drawn to the colours of the River Taff, especially as it was Autumn time
I also love to crochet, from there I turned pieces of the landscape into simplified forms and shapes that I could translate into stitches to crochet. Once I designed a pattern that could tessellate I created a tapestry.
I did not feel this was enough though, I wanted someone to properly interact with it and from there be inspired by what nature can inspire
If this was a real-life structure it would be constructed of recycled glass into a mosaiced pavilion, having it opaque would allow the public to engage with not only the structure but also the nature of the River Taff itself.
