Project Description

Enterprise Hub

Treherbert Exchange Network is a part of a larger strategy promoting Treherbert, it builds upon the ‘Do it yourself’ attitude and a strong sense of community the residents, enabling them to regenerate the their town though long term sustainable growth.

Welcome to our woods has already set out the vision for a ‘forest town’ which would bring in many sustainably gathered resources (food and timber) to the town however this could be the injection that could bring a variety of different skills to their economy. The raw resources will need processing of course, but could the selling, management and training also be done within Treherbert.

And does it need to stay within agroforestry? A workshop could provide plastic manufacturing too, using waste product created by individuals and businesses. A co-working space with conference rooms could promote service sectors and employability training. Home crafters or allotment growers could all be serviced by a flexible market hall.

The Enterprise hub can promote creation, exchange, and networking. Creating a network of interdependence that will facilitate sole traders, workers, and small businesses to thrive within the town that can help each other when times get tough.
