Project Description
Culinary Kiosk
This project is a proposal for redesigning the Millennium Walk in Cardiff. A series of up to 12 food kiosks are proposed to enhance the experience on site. The dish sold is a fusion desert between the Romanian apple cake “placinta cu mere” and the British apple crumble.
. I was interested by the pillars that hold the boardwalk and with inspiration from Otto Frei and Santiago Calatrava’s work I began designing the shape of my kiosk. After a series of conceptual models, I settled on a final shape as shown above.
As for the material, sustainability was key. For the roof I chose a thin polymer membrane easy to transport and assemble and for the supporting structure I picked wood.
The final kiosk is a playful design that I hope will bring a positive and interesting experience for the people using the Millennium Walk.
