Project Description

Caerphilly sustainable farm and market

Market towns have been known across the UK since antiquity and grew rapidly in the fortified towns of the middle ages. The often weekly markets would transform the town and represent a bridge between the rural and the urban through an exchange in commodities, news and culture.
In this project i will be developing a proposal that reconnects Caerphilly with its food culture, landscape and agricultural heritage. And i need to develop public proposals that consider growing and producing food, how food is sold and how food is eaten.

Support projects issues of food security are in the news again in relation
to the Ukraine crisis and disruption to one of the main world suppliers of
wheat and sunflower oil. With food prices rising in the wake of Brexit and The UK's exit from the European Union, food banks are needed more than ever. The UK also has a problem with obesity, with many people eating an unhealthy diet. And the UK mainly imports fresh fruit and vegetables and does not grow enough of them.

Agriculture, whether large-scale, traditional land or small-scale, modern greenhouses and other Spaces, is now on the verge of collapse. The industry relies on local farmers in rural areas where resources and capital are scarce, making it difficult for them to continue the practice and support the entire food supply system on their own.
As technology advances at a faster rate and alternative ways are invented to maintain a healthy influx of food, farming in places previously unthought of is becoming possible. The shift from traditional farming to new farming will be a big change. Can this farming be physically transformed into dense Spaces as easily as any other modern intervention?
In this land, I want to produce and sell by myself, from planting, collecting, selling, transportation, production,tourism... Facilities to meet the city's food needs and maintain the supply end of the supply chain. The hope is to provide transparency and penetration for local citizens so that they can access and learn about food supply systems and agricultural practices to achieve self-sufficiency.
Aim
* Change - from foreign imports to self-produced sales
* Connections - Filling gaps between key components of the biosphere.
* Mindset - Through education and self-experience, change the perception of agriculture, bring young people to the city and add joy to the life of the elderly.
* Balance - Striking a balance between our own

In the end, the only thing I was not satisfied with about this project was the roof, which did not reach the proper Angle for the rain to fall smoothly. The roof connection is also expected to be better. Everything else seems perfect to me, too.
