Culinary Kiosk

This aim of this project was to address sustainability within an urban landscape whilst providing a public space to meet and eat and enjoy traditional Welsh food.

Incorporating greenery and sustainability was important within the kiosk to connect the Millennium walk to Bute Park and create an immersive space for customers and the community.

The kiosk is designed with a small garden on the roof where thyme could be grown to be used in the Glamorgan Sausages. This reduces the food miles of the ingredient making it more sustainable and extends the wildlife along the River Taff.

The shape and materials of the kiosk also connect the design to the boardwalk and the surrounding area.

The final design sits well within the site and functions well as an urban food kiosk whilst contributing to the boardwalk and the experience of the customers.
