Urban Stage

The aim of this project was to create an urban stage that could be used during the Eisteddfod festival but also have a useful purpose afterwards.

To achieve this, the space needs to be multi-purpose and sustainable whilst fitting cohesively with the site and benefitting the local community.

The design achieved this by creating a multi-functional stage and bridge. The bridge connects the two docks, renewing their purpose and encouraging visitors. The use of used shipping containers reduces the structures impact on the environment and reflects the site's history.

The urban stage successfully creates a space to celebrate Welsh culture and the theme of togetherness whilst being able to accommodate the variety of events of the Eisteddfod festival.
