Project Description
RESTORATION OF NATURE, RECREATING, BRINGING BACK TO LIFE THE LANDSCAPE THAT IS NOW LOST, MERGING, BLENDING, EVOLVING, CAMOUFLAGING....
My project aims to create a center for access to nature where the concept for my project will take one through a transition of the site from an existing
insensitive man-made location to a natural wooded landscape.
Blending with the surroundings is another key aspect of this theme and hence, merging with the surrounding mountains and incorporating nature, greenery and local species falling off them to create an almost dynamic and breathable place is vital. The overall intention is to destroy the artificialness of the site and increase the liveliness of the valley.
• Plants and greenery is being incorporated quite holistically because the site at present lacks the appreciation for the beautiful landscape features around the plaza/promenade as people have defined a boundary and limited nature from entering there.
• Secondly, the pollution caused by the no. of cars and buses that arrive there every day may also pose a threat to the beauty of this valley, and by increasing the carbon footprint, hence sustainability and net positive impact are also being explored here.
I could achieve the idea for this proposal by blending with the surroundings, bringing in more landscape essentially by pulling the existing green cover on the surrounding mountains, and cliffs. Overall, a transition from an existing man-made location to an almost living-dynamic forest-like area is again helping the proposal to exhibit its designerly and experiential qualities.
This experience would be very unique for the tourists and other locals as they hadn’t seen the site so green and full of greenery before, hence it might be like a short trip to an island or even like a short respite from the man-made world, where they can just relax in nature and surf in the seawater or the rock lidos.
Bringing the valley landscape back to the site would again be very beneficial in restoring its lost green cover.
