Project Description

Kiosk inspired by the bright and bold graffiti to bring life to the walkway

My concept behind the design was to create a space for the community to socialise and celebrate Welsh food and culture.

What caught my attention from the Walkway was the bold and colorful graffiti. I made some sketches exploring the different styles and characteristics of the font and saw some shapes starting to form.

My concept collage for the project includes the local, sustainable and Welsh burger company that would be in the kiosk. It also includes words that represent what I believe the space needed.
When multiple units of the kiosk design are linked using “connectors”, people are invited along the walkway; this reinforces a sense of flow.
The floor plan shows the kiosk when open- the pivoting wall allows for workers to have a private space away from the kitchen.

The sustainability of the kiosk design means it can be re-used in the future as workshops, market stalls and so on- transforming it into a space for residents and visitors to enjoy.
