Project Description
Urban micro-renewal to revitalise the area
I found SITE C to be less accessible and less permeable to the east due to the intersection of two light rail lines. At the same time, the area is extremely inclusive and serves a younger population of students and workers. However, there is a lack of continuous and adequate public space and the area is not vibrant enough.
Today, with the rapid development of cities, micro-renovation of existing areas has become a means of urban regeneration. The design therefore seeks to revitalise the area by creating two axes and a ring.
The design is based on a redesign of the original potential plot to create a more human space. In addition, the addition of a light rail trail and a cultural promenade will enable better communication between people and attract inward investment and sustainable economic development of the area.
My vision for Site C is one of both diversity and interaction.
Make full use of the natural resources in the site to create public space to connect buildings in the area, improve the quality and vitality of street life, and build urban configurations to connect with various stakeholders to become an urban quarter in the Cardiff centre.

I am a student of urban design in 2022. I am particularly interested in urban regeneration, which is an option facing modern cities. At the same time, organising the participation of different stakeholders in the process is also beneficial for the sustainable development of the city.
