MSc Sustainable Building Conservation
The MSc Sustainable Building Conservation returned to on site visits this year in all its modules. Students in ART 504 whose work is shown here, visited Athens and Delphi in January. This year their projects focused on marginal or infrastructural heritage. Initially, a group project was used thematically categorise and critically appraise the types, locations and scope of such tangible heritage as recognised on the World Heritage List. Each student then selected a challenging site that they knew well to work on individually, making a proposal for re-use, re-interpretation or managed decay going forward. As a cohort of both international and home students, their work demonstrates the global reach of their interpretations as a group and hopefully forms the basis of a professional and social network in the future.
