Project Description
A semi-permanent structure and an urban stage designed for live music performances during the annual Eisteddfodd event
The concepts of the design are: flexibility, lightweightness and open views of Cardiff Bay. Since it is located at the end pier of Mt Stuart Graving Docks, a floating structure that allows viewers to easily watch the performance from afar and audience to enjoy surrounding views of Cardiff bay while the performance is ongoing.
The site which is a dry dock, look visibly barren, the furthest end point of the dock looks neglected and abandoned, similar to how Cardiff Bay was once a neglected area in the early 1980s.
During the festival, the space is mainly a ticketed access space but after the festival, the space is open to public throughout the rest of the year, making it a social interactive public space all year round.
From being a neglected dry dock to a lively public space, it aims to enhance the Cardiff Bay's public realm

I'm from Singapore and since I was young I love playing computer games that involves space planning such as sims or pet society namely, where I can reimagine and design the spaces for the users. Growing up, I develop a deeper interest in Architecture and Interior Design and currently I am fortunate to experience an eclectic styles of Architecture from Singapore and the UK to inspire ideas for my work. I enjoy playing musical instruments or go on a hike and cycle on my bicycle to unwind during my free time.
