Project Description

Abstract model representation of River Taff

The Design concept of the project is the fluidity and abstract representation of water movement.

I want the users to be able to experience being in Bute park and have their senses invoked just by looking at the model of the River Taff at the Blackweir Section.

I experimented with different materials and forms to replicate the same movement of water waves of the river at the Blackweir bridge point in Bute Park. In this case, I used a white reflective art card.

The white reflective art card effectively mimics the movement of the river Taff as it can be bent when it is cut into pieces and joined together to form a repetitive regular structure. The reflective materiality of the white card also creates reflection which is similar to the reflections formed on water surface.
