Find the potential of Castelfranco, Identifying social needs and meeting people's social needs with sensible designs to improve their well-being in life.

As a tourist town, Castelfranco holds too many urban facilities and architectural features such as hotels and tourist attractions that are primarily for tourists, sometimes neglecting the needs of the local community. There is a lack of a public area to serve the local residents, so it is necessary to make a public community center where residents can easily gather for entertainment.

To minimize the influence of the ancient town, I try to imitate the shape of the surrounding terrain and ramps. Making the community center with one floor combine within the surrounding natural green belts.

Creating a new social and community hub for local residents, combining the character of the Castelfranco Town with everyday activities to enrich their daily lives.

This plan represents the details and the functional area in the whole community center. Also shows the 3 paths leads to different destinations.

Throughout this perspective section, the functions of the different rooms and the activities of the people are clearly shown.

This section shows more details about the surrounding environment: the green belt, the town moat and the town wall. The section of the Cafe and the Toilet is the second oval of the community center. People after entertainment could enjoy drinks in the cafe and appreciate the river scenery on the outdoor wooden platform.

Fiona Wang just finished the 3rd year at Cardiff University, recently completed the part 1 undergraduate study at the Welsh School of Architecture from Cardiff University. She has had brief internships at architectural firms both in China and the UK. -Participation in the CAUKIN Vanuatu Project (April, 2021), a charity project to help design wind-proof classroom for the underprivileged students in Vanuatu. -Worked for the company as an assistant in the summer holiday of 2021, helping to collaborate on public project such as schools at a JiZhun FangZhong Architectural firm in China. Despite being from China, she studied in the UK for 3 years. Her open and tolerant mind allows her to actively embrace new things, and has a strong ability to adapt and resist stress.
