Project Description
The past, present and future
The project aims to capture the history of Gregynog as it conserves the existing wall structure and artworks. The new space juxtaposes the old and new with the incorporation of local wildlife encouraging conservation. The intended users, scholars, artists, writers and musicians relate also to the past clients of Gregynog.
Delving into the rural, the project aims to "reinvent" a rural space and illustrate a new identity for the chosen sites. The question is to what extent is the man-made and mother nature allowed to converge and when should they separate? Is there a way they can coexist?
To achieve this I researched carefully on the history of the site and made sure to create spaces that represent the intended users. Each space also has a connection with nature.
The proposal captured what I wanted to show however, I would like to highlight more moments which I have not delved into such as atmospherics for the archive and amphitheatre. The difference between brick types should've also been clearer.
