Housing Project

The aim was to create a journey and experience for the client of the holiday homes through the concept of the Greek Village. The idea of discovering and preserving the natural views was considered for this journey.

This proposal was developed as it demonstrated the opportunity to have environmental and economical benefits. Creating holiday homes on the coastal site would encourage people to travel by foot to explore the new local area. I considered that other clients like a family of 4 would find travel by car necessary for work or school. Therefore, the holiday home scheme is likely to reduce carbon emissions by travel. This proposal would also boost the economy and diversity by increasing tourism within the area.

My proposal was achieved by analysing a Greek Village in Paros to understand the architectural language of a 'Greek style' village that creates a journey and frames the sea views.

The Greek Village was a concept that was suitable for the site and context, and also created an interesting housing scheme for clients to explore.
