Project Description

Engine house

The engine house is an existing brick, concrete and stone building which we plan to revive. This is an on-going project which focuses on creating a community space, focusing on youth as a whole. The engine house is part of the secondary programme, coming after the ATC hut which is primary.

The theme of revival and renovation conserves the pe-existing history of the rural site whilst creating new amendments allowing the modernisation of the town.

The proposal was achieved by the careful consideration of the clients which preferred a subtle change to the site. They also wanted a multiuse space therefore we made the building open space allowing future changes.

As this is an on going project there is still a lot of improvements to be made. Recently we have gathered suggestions from the locals on what we could develop and add onto the design.
