Project Description

Reinventing Rural - Housing Project

Integrated the idea of the moment from my childhood home into the housing project, to make these living spaces inviting for the inhabitants, making house a home. The housing project is connected to the context of the town, offering clear sense of space and connecting to the wider community.

I am looking at these themes as they are required to think about the importance of the wider context and the community of the town. The design of the proposal connects to the history of the site, as the idea of the courtyard is derived from the town hall building which was situated on the site before the 1970s.

Affordable housing scheme for the people of the town, A market space to connect the wider community, connecting the surroundings. The materials being used in the proposal are locally sourced, timber frame and welsh slate.

public realm - market space - connecting to the wider community, affordable housing - beneficial for the people of Hay on Wye, sustainable
