Serviced Buildings for Thermal Comfort in the Middle East

Serviced Buildings for Thermal Comfort in the Middle East

LOCATION

Manama, Capital Governorate, 308, Bahrain

Project Description

Botanical Museum in Manama, Bahrain

Explore passive houses and serviced buildings in the Middle East. The purpose of the study is to meet the thermal comfort needs of the local population.

The purpose is to achieve low carbon buildings and zero carbon buildings in order to achieve the purpose of sustainable development.

This project realizes the thermal comfort of passive houses in spring and autumn and the thermal comfort of serviced building throughout the year through the review and research of relevant literature, energy-saving products and green building design specifications, and data simulation through design builder software.

The use of optimized artificial lighting, renewable energy and renewable energy systems reduces the energy consumption of the building to a certain extent. However, the energy consumption of these two spaces did not meet the benchmark requirements in the CIBSE Guide F. In the context of rapid global urbanization, the process of global warming continues, and changes in the external environment will further lead to changes in indoor comfort requirements. In the Bahrain region, service buildings still require technological updates and developments to further reduce building service costs, improve energy efficiency, and ultimately achieve zero-carbon buildings.
