Sanctuary Design Competition
This project was focused on a local school in Cardiff and aimed at providing the school children with a sanctuary in an area of woodland within the school grounds. The sanctuary should provide a space for children to learn, rest, play and go for comfort. The idea behind the design was to use natural materials (mainly wood) to connect the structure to the site, making it part of the landscape, while also keeping the construction process sustainable. The reciprocal roof design aimed to inspire, interest and provide shelter for the occupants. The sanctuary design is one which could be inputted into many schools as it is quick to construct and easily fundable.
